Sinestro is the true hero of the book though- after his home planet of Korugar was destroyed last issue he becomes a yellow lantern again AND controls the Parallax power- he saves the Green Lantern Corps and helps Jordan. Using Lyssa Drak's ring, Jessica traveled to New Korugar, where Thaal Sinestro welcomed her to the corps and assigned her to Sector 2814. He offers to help her learn to use her ring if he comes with him to Korugar. In Ring Me Maybe Part 4, Jessica Cruz, now the new Green Lantern of Earth confronts him as he is about to leave.
She both overcame great fear and instilled it in her enemies, earning herself a Yellow Lantern Ring. When Supergirl returns from escorting Hal to Oa, she gets captured by Sinestro, who intends to make her his dream teams captain. When members of the Sinestro Corps sought to steal the station's supplies and convert it into their base, Cruz fought them without a Ring.
Cruz lived on the station alone and powerless for over a year, as she learned to use the station's communications systems, allowing her to guard the Sector as a watcher and advisor. When the Central Power Battery of Oa was destroyed, Jessica Cruz found herself stranded on a Lantern station in Sector 123. Immediately afterwards, a Green Lantern ring descends at the battlefield and transforms Jessica, whose courageous act proved her to be capable of overcoming great fear, into a new Green Lantern. She is helped by the Justice League and Simon Baz, who help her understand her cursed powers. Though technically she is not a "Power Ring" as she is not a member of the Crime Syndicate and has no association with the organization, for namesake purposes she is dubbed "Power Ring" while the ring uses her as a host. Jessica Cruz was forced to become the unwilling host to the Ring of Volthoom after Power Ring's death.
