I demanded to speak to a manager, was told someone would call me immediately (this was around 12:15).

I was told maybe there was a problem with commercial paperwork I needed - ? I told them the documents in the package have no commercial value (personal value yes) and could they please tell me what I needed to do. Today I called (Wednesday) at exactly noon when nothing had changed in the system. I again told them this is urgent, and if I don't seea change I will call again - reassured again, absolutely no later than Wednesday morning - I reminded them this was originally an overnight shipment and now this is 5 days late. I called tuesday morning and was assured "no later than Wednesday by noon" it would be sent. I informed them that I needed these documents ASAP. FedEx Germany promised me every day since that the package was coming, it just takes a few days with these things. They gave me specific instructions to tell the FedEx people in Germany (ask for a customs # or a manager to help you) The US told me it appears to be a customs issue, and their database provides no more details. beginning from the time I saw this message, I called FedEx customer service - first in the US, then in Germany. as of Friday Oct 8, despite an overnight shipment $$$, my status has been set as "clearance delay" Nothing of commercial value, everything clearly marked on the exterior of the airbill/package, same as when shipped to NJ. my package was sent from NJ, USA October 6, containing the same documents I originally sent them. Only the embassy has truly been of much help. I have been on the phone with FedEx more than ten times (they charge a lot per minute, the average ten minute phone call, half of it or more spent on hold, costs me 2 euros!), called the German customs in Cologne three times (at the request of FedEx) and the US embassy twice. I have spent over 20 euros on the phone the last three days trying to track a package sent to me. If you have anything important being sent to Germany, good luck. OK, well I didn't really think this would happen, but I have a new update: FedEx is only good for sending things out of Germany. The FedEx online calculator estimates the cost to be around the same as DHL express (54 euros). Much better than the DHL people told me at the post office here! I checked "International Priority" and have been told it will arrive within one day at my destination (which is near NYC). they let me put my credit card number in the Sender's Account Info box at the top (whew).

is this FedEx?" A polite young woman who spoke fluent English helped me with a form and the envelope, and like the U.S. I walked in to a reception desk for "courier" services and said "Guten morgen. It looks like a typical industrial complex, but unless you schedule a pick-up it's the only place in Berlin to drop-off a personal FedEx envelope/package. FedEx is basically in the back left hand corner of this industrial building complex (orange sign number 2 building I believe). (Berlin), NOT Rohderstr, which is what BVG will tell you is the closest but this is not the case). I went directly to the FedEx drop off location at Gottlieb-Dunkel str 20/21 (near M Bus 46 stop / 277 stop: Bergholzstr.

#Fedex drop off update

OK, I thought I would update everyone on what I did - if everything goes well (or not), I'll update again later this week. Help! My only other recourse at this point is DHL through the local post office :/ or elsewhere in the world, fill out a form, pay for the shipment, and voilà it arrives at my destination within a day/day and a half. Also, I just got something from California via FedEx and it took less than 48 hours from time sent to arrive, so I trust FedEx more than DHL (which I have no experiences with).īUT, for the life of me, I cannot figure this out: where on earth can I drop off a package for FedEx in Berlin? As in, I'd like to go somewhere like I do in the U.S. Wednesday is stretching it, I would rather have an overnight and I'll pay for it. Then I also started reading this forum and discovered people have had some bad experiences with DHL through DP, namely losing packages or delivery 6 days later! This stuff needs to arrive ASAP, because it's important documents. Monday morning would be arrival Wednesday. Then I visited the post office and they said the fastest shipping to the U.S. Originally, I was going to send my documents via DHL to the east coast of the U.S.
